Matso’s Brewhouse

Matso’s Brewhouse was designed by Delaware North to capture the playful, fun-loving spirit of the Matso’s brand while giving travellers a sense of holiday before the holiday. Located in the airport, the space invites visitors to slow down, relax, and enjoy a ginger beer or two before their journey.

The design draws inspiration from Broome, the original home of Matso’s, with warm earthy terracotta tones evoking the rugged Kimberley landscape. Rattan screening references the region’s Japanese heritage and nods to the iconic Matso’s story, while lush tropical planting adds a relaxed, beachside vibe. A striking pearl diver’s helmet at the entry acts as a memorable focal point, welcoming guests into the space.

We transformed an existing venue that required a strong refresh into a lively, engaging environment that balancing playfulness, and comfort. Every element was carefully curated to provide travellers with a unique, immersive experience — a place to rest, reconnect, and embrace the joy of travel.
